if internet explorer has been altered by a ISP disk,

if i goto tools / internet options i get this error

this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effet on this computer : please contact a sys admin

what the feck is going on

Can you not download and install a virgin copy of IE from Microsofts web site which hasn't been altered by ISPs? Would that solve the problem?

If you are running Windows NT or 2000 this can happen due to insufficient rights that your account may have. Make sure your account has admin rights under Control Panel -- Administrative Tools -- Computer management (User Manager on NT). good luck

Or just log in as the admin

I have had that happen to me with a providers disk several times (same provider, different clients). I forget the exact fix, but I believe it was something to do with removing the keys that I found with that providers name. Then I believe I had to load a higher version of explorer to get it to repair itself. If it was my system, I would go awhile until I couldn't stand it anymore thinking it wasn't right and I would reload..............😀

Anyone else like that?
