Internet Explorer window is SHIFTED DOWN...HELP!

IE 6 has been running fine for the entire time I've had this computer (Windows XP Pro SP1). However, this morning I fired up IE and EVEN WHEN MAXIMIZED there is still about an inch-long strip at the top of the screen where it simply WON'T GO. It's as if the entire program is shifted down an inch, and there's no way that I have found to fix it.

No other programs have this problem - I've used Mozilla 1.2b, Windows Explorer (i.e., all my folders), etc., and they all are able to 'access' the top of the screen.

I've tried running AdAware, I've tried playing with views, and folder options, and nothing works! I am so frustrated, and I can't figure out what to do! Anyone have any ideas?

have you tried resetting internet options?
or go to start > setting > control panel > add/remove program > msie > repair msie?

and maybe try to look at running processes when you have msie up (instead of when it's away)
see what you can find and delete and stuffs
also if you haven't, download zone alarm and see if you have some program running the the background that access the internet every time msie is up
