Internet Explorer....problems only when logging in is needed

Hey there,

I have a friend whose internet explorer comes up with "page cannot be displayed" everytime he tries to logon to a website...I emptied out all the temp files and stuff and reset to defaults but it's still doing it!

Normal web surfing is fine....I think it must be something to with accessing SSL secure pages? It's Windows XP Home + IE 6
