Internet Explorer has encountered a problem...... Spyware???

Been having alot of problems with Internet Explorer ver 6.0.2800.1106, It keeps saying
"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to be shut down"

when you get the details of the problem it has:
iexplore.exe appver 6.0.2800.1106 modname msvcrt.dll modver 6.1.829.0

when doing a google search for problem it looks like it may be a possible spyware problem. Does anyone have any ideas on this?? Thanks for any help avail
 
If you suspect spyware (Have you been having popup problems?? Home page doesn't stay?), then how 'bout trying the spyware sticky at the top of the software forum... It includes a list of instructions and links to various software packages to fix spyware problems.
 
burn a copy of FireFox onto a CD from another PC.
Much better browser than IE.
You may then be about to redownload the IESetup.exe file from Microsoft and run it.
It may fix what ever is wrong with IE if it's a software problem with IE.
