Internet explorer crashing

For a couple of weeks now, something real strange has been happening.

Once in a while, when i'm using 5 or so I.E. windows, one will stop responding, and then they will all crash.

Then strangely, this icon will appear in the system tray. It is difficult to describe, but it appears to be some kind of movie/film-strip icon. It is black and white, and appears to be a film strip on its side.

When I highlight it with my mouse, it disapears.

I've got a gig of cheap ram, plenty of HD space, no viruses, no spyware. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Adam

Take a look at your startup items. (Start, Run, MSCONFIG)
Should tell you what the items are and it you're not sure then put your pc into a selective startup - basically uncheck everything in your statup tab, then restart the pc.
If it don't crash anymore then its definatly something booting with windows.
