internet explorer 6, what do you think of it?

I install IE 6 and i ran it for a day before i install it, i personally think it sucks on win 2000 pro, IE 5 ran way better and what's with the funny looking "E" in Xplorer, Basically I Think IE 6 looked like it had a few modifications with bad performance.
 
Bleh... I tried it and didn't hink too much on it. I run both win2k and win98se... GOing back to ie 5.5
 
I really don't see any difference in performance. There are a few more features that I probably won't use, but they're there if/when I want them. I guess that's worth something. And something for nothing just ain't a bad thing.

A possitive rating here.

Ditto. It's not really worth the upgrade, but it's not a downgrade either.
 
I agree with the last few saying it's not much better or much worse. My only complaint is that for some reason F5 no longer refreshes...
 
well.. on win2k i didn't see any performance increase and i didn't like much of the new feature, which are all disabled now. Those thing i have disable are auto image resize, that menu u get when u place mouse ontop of picture and cookie blocking (since i find cookie to be usful for some sites i visit).

so i'm like running ie6 like a ie5.5
 
Well, it seems with my dial-up there is a pause initially (10secs or so) when first connecting to a website. I have not noticed this on broadband connections. The cookie-blocking feature is nicely integrated into the browser. Some people don't like the auto-image resize, but that can easily be disabled in the options.
 
Boyz, I suggest that you reinstall Win2K since you seem to be having so many problems with your software. Either that or you're so anti-windows that you need to go Linux.
 
haven't noticed any performance difference between 6 and 5.5 w/ sp2 and high-encryption pack

however, i did notice that my borderfree link doesn't work w/ IE6

and so, i reverted back to 5.5

the only good thing about IE6 was a few aesthetic changes, if ya ask me...apparently it has problems w/ some links, so who knows what else it has problems with...i wouldn't recommend it.
