Internet Drops randomly.

This is pissing me off so bad. I have Alltel DSL, and my internet drops like crazy. Sometimes it doesn't drop for at least a day and a half, and other times it drops every 5-10 minutes. I have everything plugged in right and all the cables are fully working. This is the most frustrating problem I've ever encountered. I have no idea how to fix this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the modem stuff from the CD I got. It was working perfectly fine, then one day POOF internet is dropping out every day. Someone please help me with this!!!
 
Check the 'speed and duplex' of the ethernet card. Drop the MTU value on the modem. Normally you can drop the MTU value down to minimum 1400.
