Internet connectivity partial vanishing in XP?

I've been having a most puzzling issue the last few weeks. My computer (XP 1900+, EPOX 8KHA, XP pro) looses the ability to use the internet in a most strange way. Everything will work fine for almost 10 hours or so, and then things start to go hay wire. The first hint that things are going south are that images stop loading in internet explorer. Eventually no images load, css doesn't get applied to the html, and following links don't work, except sometimes if the page is refreshed. In any case, using Mozilla instead does NOT fix the problem...it simply yields a could not connect error. Instant message will always work at this point, even logging off and back on, but email to numerous accounts on different severs does not work (using both outlook and outlook express). At this point using any other computer on my network works perfactlly fine. What I've resorted to in the mean time is to simply to not use my desktop computer any more, but this seems quite a wasteful solution.

I've tried doing a repair install of xp (install, choose clean install, and when it asks, choosing to repair the existing installation). Also, I've tried creating a new user account on the same machine and just using that account, which does not fix the problem.

Does anyone have any clue what might be going on? Any suggestions for what to try? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

i also have the same kinds of problems...I cannot be sure for what it is though...it drives me nuts...sometimes, it loses connection period, including pinging, its like that darn nic just gets hosed for some reason...i know of a couple other people that have this as well...using xp only...i have never had this problem using win2000

very frustrating

I am wondering if it is a brand thing or a driver, but i am up to date on it....also it could be software doing something...

see if your event log has anything in it
