internet connection switch over?

hey.. i just built my new rig.. finally.... after burning up my cpu and motherboard i got it running.... i just need some help switching over my net connection... i have a pipeline broadband connection and was ussing a pc card reader for the connection.... now i have a network card... and i cant figure out how to switch over the net stuff... or even where to find to enter the stuff.. my new comp is running winxp.. the old one win 98
