internet connection speed testing program

Is there any one internet connection speed testing program that is more reliable than others ?

It is an Excellent free application that you can enjoy no matter what. 😀

With a connection of 8Mb/sec. it should take 30 sec. to download one 31MB File.

If your connection is 3Mb/sec. it should take a little more than 60 sec.

Any other Connection, and time measured, can be prorated from the above.

P.S. Downloading a big file from a fast server is the most reliable "program" to assess the connection's Speed.

Thanks for that one but how about one that will run natively on Ubuntu linux.

Sorry, I am so used to using Ubuntu, that I forget it sometimes.

The act of downloading a file is your speed test. That's what JackMDS was saying 🙂

Better speed-tester in my opinion because it uses less flash. Short of downloading a file and timing it, of course.

*edit* Weird. I download the 64-bit version yet it still runs in 32-bit mode...
