internet connection sharing doesn't work

i'm trying to connect to the internet through my brother's computer using a crossover cable. it no worky.

he connects using a wireless connection to his router. the DHCP can't assign my computer an IP address. i've tried everything. we both use windows XP service pack 2.

any help is appreciated

You wouldn't use ICS in that scenario. Have him higlight both his network connections, right click, then click bridge connections.
