I wanna put linux on a server type box that I have, but is it possible to share the internet connection with windows computer (i'm sure it is). And how exactly is it done?

<- Is a newb learning.

I don't think ICS has port forwarding capabilities. You can pick up a home NAT box (commonly referred to as a router) for very little money. Check the hot deals forum.

ICS Has port forwarding.

If your wondering the setup, heres how I run it at home..

I have a hub connected to my cable modem. Box one has two network ports (my ASUS Deluxe). The nVidia NIC connects to the hub and gets an IP from my ISP, the other NIC also connects to the hub, and provides DHCP to the other systems. When another system is added, it gets its IP from that second NIC (an internal IP) and connects to the internet.

If you wanted to go the other way (linux as the ICS box), its more complex and I dont have a clue how to do it myself.

The key is the ICS system needs two NICs.. and you need a switch or a hub.

Otherwise as n0c says, get a router.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't had to mess with it since win98se. 😉
