Hello. I am making a new thread because my old one was too long and spread out and took too much effort for people to read all the posts to get up to date on what was going on to help me out.

*My problem is that my internet connection will randomly die out on me. It only drops for a second or so. What happens is that either all the lights on my router will shut off, or only some will, and my internet connection goes with it until it boots back up. This connection drop can happen as often as every five minutes or sometimes as long in between as a few hours.
*This is not my first network. I have set up dozens of networks before, I would humbly say I know what I am doing for the most part. I have had these problems only since I moved into this house.
*I have no problems with the internet connection at all if I use just the cable modem. This would instantly cause me to believe the problem is the router or something on my network, but that is not the case. It does not matter what is on my network or what router I use, the problem always happens.
*The cable modem is what causes the router to turn off and on. If the router is not connected to the cable modem via ethernet cable, the router never shuts or or has any problems at all.
*I have replaced every single cable on my network, I have replaced the cable modem itself twice, and I have replaced the router five times, even going with a different brand and model two times.
*The ISP claims that it is physically impossible for the cable modem to cause the router to turn off and on with the only connection between them being the ethernet cable. Despite their claims, this is what happens.
*I have purchased a UPS to make sure that my problem is not electric related, the problem still happens just the same.
*The problem has absolutely nothing to do with the devices on my network, or their configuration, or their network usage, everything is correct. It doesn't matter if I have a bunch of pcs, or only an xbox 360, or only a wii, the connection still goes out.
I have spent many months, dollars, and time with tech support and have made no progress in solving this problem. Help!
Thanks in advance.
