Internet Connection Problem...

I'm at a University, so I'm obviously on a LAN, however recently I cannot connect to a certain website. I am positive that the site is not down cause i checked with other people (not on the network). When I attempt to go to the page, I immediately get the message "Could not locate remote server". It pops up instantly so it seems as if the site is somehow blocked. This occurs in both Opera and IE6 under XP Pro. I know this seems like a stupid question, but there is no apparent reason for this, and I was wondering if I was overlooking a possible cause.

this wouldn't happen to be the type of site that certain lobbiest (RIAA) have warned universities about allowing on their networks , would it ?
if so your going to have to pay for your own connection.
if not , whats the site ?
