Details:
I have Windows XP on my inspiron 8200 laptop with a LAN internet connection via a Linksys router. I can connect online in Linux but not in Windows. The problem is that I can't even get a valid IP thru DHCP. Tried releasing/renewing IP, but it keeps giving me the IP address 169.254.221.180.
Also tried a static IP, no luck. It could only ping the router and other comps on the LAN with a static IP/DNS entry. Even tried reinstalling a network card driver. Also, I doubt it's the cable/router since I plugged in another box with the same cable and it worked.
Anyone know of possible remedies? If you need more information, just ask. Thanks a bundle.
