Some of those "Internet Accelerators" work differently. Some of them will open the links on a page you're viewing and cache them to memory so it will come up quickly when you click on it. These type are a huge pain in the ass, especially when the links submit info back to the server.

the companies that release software like that are smart. they know that people who are new to the internet will be stupid enough to get sucked into purchasing such software, thinking that it will actually make a difference.
