Hi, we have been having problems with our network for a while now. We just got a new cable modem and that did not fix the problem so I do not know what else it could be. I think we are going to try a new router next, but it seems like the problem is something else. When I go into the D-Link router configuration, I can DHCP release and renew and it gets the correct IP's and the internet still does not work. I try restarting both the modem and rotuer...maybe helps for a few minutes and then nothing happens. Someone said it might be an authentication problem? Maybe the ISP is the problem and not the router/modem? The router is old its a 614+ but its worked better then the new linksys we have as well. Also last night we connected directly to the modem and got the correct IP address, but it still would not connect to the internet. I dont know how else to troubleshoot this.

How about a few ping tests? Can you ping the gateway? Can you ping yahoo.com? Can you ping 4.2.2.1? Try some basic troubleshooting and let us know.
