Hi chaps, got a puzzler for you, here's hoping we can figure it out.
Built a new compy with the ASUS p8z77-v deluxe at the core. Set it up on a homegroup and connected it to my xbox 360 extender so I can watch recorded TV in my living room. Media center on the xbox connects, does its thing, and then we disconnect. And as soon as that happens, the desktop loses its internet connection.
All other internet connections are fine, the network isn't getting messed up. (In fact, one time I was transferring some things to my server and THAT didn't stop, just my connection to the internet.) Reboot fixes the problem and I get internet again. I checked the event logs and there is a DNS warning, event ID 1014, right after the connection drops. There were also several errors for Kernel-EventTracing, event ID 2, error code 0xC0000035, before the DNS warning.
Here's what I have tried so far:
- disable IPv6, didn't fix it
- switch network controllers (the board has two, 1 Intel, 1 Realtek), same problem happens on each one
Other helpful info:
- the network is on a linksys e2000 set up behind an AT&T U-Verse router, but I don't think the network is the issue because it's just the desktop whose connection fails
- new build, like I said, and I haven't updated bios yet. I plan to try that tomorrow. No new drivers are available for either of the network chips.
Any ideas?
