I used to have PDA Connect but since this has caused SIGNIFICANT charges with the text messaging notification for new emails, I just called to switch plans.
Now they are selling me something called Cingular Max 1000 which is $49.99 with unlimited data (like PDA connect) and 1000 text messages (additional messages are 0.5 c/min).
But I have also been toying with the idea to switch to a medianet plan (it is supposedly only for smartphones not for PDAs - but Cingular doesn't know which phone I use with it).
What are your plans?
Does MediaNet give you unlimited access to the internet or is it only to Cingular's stupid WAP internet?
Along the lines of the old Medianet plans Cingular now seems to offer MediaMax plans (Medianet + test messaging) that are cheaper than the Cingular Max plans for business customers ...
PS: Also got into a long argument with the CS Rep when I switched my voice plan to a different plan because I have had the current plan for more than 12 months (12 months + 20 days to be exact) - he claimed I had to extend the contract by 11 months in order to do this. Despite me asking specifically whether I could do that for the duration of my contract without extending the contract, he now claimed that cingular had this in the terms and conditions of the contract I signed. Funny thing though ... he couldn't show it to me in the terms and conditions that they publish online. This of course prompted me asking him whether I should report them to the FCC and the BBB for fraudulent business practices. I then got it changed without an extension - but I hate all the cell carriers anyhow. All frauds.
