If it does happen...download and run Hijack This. Fixed it for me.
When I ran Hijack This, it returns all the running process, but I don't know which ones to close. There are obvious ones that I know it's either systems or I set it to run, but there are others that seems sketchy, either registry run or something else. How do I know which to get rid off? And thanks for the linkies Conjur.

Go here to read about what processes are what.

Link for Hijack This (Sorry I couldn't get this earlier...was on-site and google.com wouldn't work so I could search for it. <shrug>)

I guess a non IE browser is one way to do that. I use Mozilla at work but it's way slower than IE. Haven't tried Opera. I also tried putzing around with my security settings in IE but nothing works. Anyone know a way to plug the hole in IE other than using a different browser? What pisses me off is that Microsoft probably purposely put this in. I'm going to try Opera if there's no other way.

I guess you could always NOT go to pr0n or warez sites...

spybot search & destroy has an "immunize" feature that will block many of these exploits that allow browser hijacks
