Internet Banking is Dead 10-5-07

10 days to make a bank to bank electronic bill pay - give me a fcking break

It went from 3 days to 5 days and now it is 10 days.

Totally impossible to pay bills electronically now without either a seer that can see into the future.

Bush's Check 21 is getting worse and worse.

You Corporate/Bank supporters can't possibly make any reasonable explantion for totally fubaring Internet banking.

What are you whining about now? You mean an EFT transfer bank to bank? Get a good internet bank. Fidelity allows your funds to be available instantly for fund purchasing (hello interest double dip!), and clears generally within 3-4 days.

Dave

When your mommy lets you drink from a big boy glass instead of a sippy cup and a little apple juice dribbles down your chin, do you blame Bush and his corporate supporters?

Somehow I get the feeling this might involve Nigeria and a large settlement of money left to me by a distant relative.

Are you talking about an Internet bank only?

Netbank in Atlanta just went out of business.

Holy shit. Now your slow internet banking is a corporate conspiracy. I think your doctor needs to check your prescription again.

What are YOU talking about? This is your thread.

For the record, off the top of my head I hold accounts at everbank, virtualbank, gmac, ingdirect, FNBOdirect, Vanguard and Fidelity. Right now I'm most happy with Fidelity.

Check21 is optional to banks, some use it, some don't.

10 days in unacceptable, which bank do you use?

Fatwallet has a thread on which banks are the fastest.

It doesn't matter which bank, cause internet banking is dead. All banks take 10 days (if ever) now thanks to Bush. Netbank is just the first of many to come. Thanks a lot you corporate bank whore shill, there's no excuse for your behavior.

I'm confused. Is alchemize another dmcowen account or is this a parody.

Are you complaining about check 21 or electronic banking? Neither one has to do with Bush aside from him signing off on check 21 act no reason not to sign it. And the only Complaint I could see with check 21 is that the banks get their money quick but can still take their time issuing funds, and are starting to charge people who want there checks back. Just about every remittance processor has adopted it, so just make sure when you write a check out for a bill that the money is there because there isn?t much of a delay now. The banks are saving big time on all the personnel, equipment, storage, time, ect on this and it sucks that they don?t pass the savings to us but hey it?s a free market.

You can opt out of the check 21 process if you call your bank for now or write checks from a foreign bank they have different MICR lines and can?t go through ACH.

Hmmm, sounds like you need a new bank.

Chase pays overnight guaranteed. Check or electronic.

I do overnight ACH/EFT with Citibank and E*Trade.

Yes, it passed 2 years ago when the GOP had 110% control of Congress.

What part of unanimously don't you understand?

Yah it's too bad Derek is AWOL, because with threads like these I can't imagine how he could argue against a ban for complete trolling. Either that, or you're a complete idiot, and there's no rules against idiots.

Dave is no liberal. Liberals should be ashamed he posts here and shout him down, but alas liberals will embrace and even defend him because he represents their views most of the time.

It's dead? Then how did I manage to pay my utility, cable and internet and credit card bills? I don't remember writing out checks or even getting off my ass, but they seem to have gotten paid.

Or is this just an issue with transfering funds from one bank to another? Account to account, that is, not something that would draft your checking account.

Get a new bank. Thats the reason I sent Best buy back their crappy card. Their online payment system took two days to process. So you cancel it.

I have no issues with my current bank or any accounts I have. Most post transactions within a hour.

Between my business and personal accounts I write maybe five checks a month. Internet banking isn't dead here. If I pay just about any sizeable creditor or utility the payment is same day or the next at the latest.

Dave, what in the world are you talking about? Any authority for the statement that it now takes ten days to clear an internet payment?

I join the chorus of previous posters who said get a better bank.

Dave's problem may have something to do with the payee, not the payer. Some companies do have terms which allow them to "hold" a payment for 7 or even 10 days; This has nothing to do with your bank.
