international flights check in time

Ideally I don't want to drag my luggage to school and then ride all the way to the airport... So I'm thinking that I can come back to get the luggage and then leave. Flight leaves at 1:30pm and I can get to the airport before 11:30. What do you think?

2 hours is usually enough. Rarely will you need more. In most cases, you'll be waiting 45min before getting on the plane, but better safe than sorry.

SFO?

make it 3 hours. the international terminal is always crowded. Security isn't going to be your problem. its checking in your luggages. SFO security weeds people much faster than other airports I've been to.

I'm flying back to the US (salt lake city) from Hamburg

I've flown back from Germany to the US before. They usually say be there 3 hours before but usually 2 hours or so is enough. Don't know how busy the Hamburg airport is but just be ready for the 2 security checks(Flights to the US usually have an extra security check, right before you get to your gate)
