I have a friend who calls Chile a lot. He pays about 8 cents a minute. Has anyone here used VOIP for international calling? Is it worth it? I know it's good for regular lond distance in the US. I've also heard that if you call another country the reciepement will gets an additional charge because the phone company knows the call is coming from a viop service? Is this true?

Thanks for any help.

No, not true. No additional charges.

We call Costa Rica every 2-3 days on Vonage and its fine. We get the occational busy signal, but we get that from land lines too.

Nope.

Although SunRocket.com does offer $3 free international long distance every month. Usually USA and Canada are unlimited though.
