International calling...cheap methods?

I might want to make an international call soon...what's the cheapest way? I've seen calling cards that are pretty cheap by the minute, but I don't really need the amount of minutes they have (they're like $20 for 300 minutes, etc). I'm not sure what my current international plan would be 😛

Suggestions?

You can get the cards much cheaper with less minutes. What country? Onesuite.com is pretty damn competitive.

Calling cards or some internet phone (i have been out of the loop on this for a while). To get cheaper calling cards, go to an Asian store or something.

That looks pretty cool, it would be 5.5¢/min through their toll-free number (no local one near me). Have you used them? Are there any other hidden charges? Quality service (not real important)?

Too bad everything uses tone now. 8 years ago I managed to make free phone calls by faking pulse signals on my phone.

I use onesuite.com to call my parents in Germany. The quality is great and there are no hidden charges. 🙂

lol! I used to get these long distance and international calling cards from an Arab store around the corner from my apartment. Man I don't know where to get those suckers now, but they were called "Penny" cards and the rate was 1 cent per minute.

Granted, there was a 75 cent connect fee, but if you used-up all your minutes in one phone call, it would come out to 1 cent per minute. He also had a 5 cent per minute card with no connect fee if you made a lot of shorter calls. I never used it to call internationally, only out of state.

I haven't seen those things since I moved.

Sams Club calling cards work great. I used them for 4 months while i was in Europe to call back to the states, and my girlfriend called me over there using one.

I think you need to get out guys, local mexican and other international stores in NY sell prepaid $5 and $10 cards with no surcharges for better rates than any of the sites below, Israel 11 cents
