International buyer on ebay

I received an international buyer on my auction and was wondering what ways of accepting payments would be safe. I know paypal's out of the question. I don't know how wire transfers and western unions work, but I heard those were pretty safe?

Thanks

Auction's about $300.00 and it's a pda.

My second question is how much do I charge for shipping since my standard us rate was $8.00. I didn't intend to have any international buyers which is why I clicked the us only tab. I've never shipped out of the country before=/.

I tried bidpay about 5 times before, and 3 of those transactions were denied for whatever reason (they don't tell you) after a week of processing.

Thanks

edit: He's from France.

Hmm, I think I got the price thing down. USPS seems to be the cheapest at around $30 for ems. What I don't get is why USPS charges the almost the same for shipping to canada and france. Last time I shipped my gamecube over to canada via usps, it cost $25.00 (about the same weight) using ems to get tracking.

Anyways, any clue on what payment type to accept from a french buyer? Thanks

Well, I clicked the US only tab which to any other person would indicate I only ship within the US. This is my only auction I had going so I don't really want to bother reliting, filing for fees extra, since getting my $4.00 relisting fee, $8 final value fee would take too long. In any case, My only problem is how I'll accept the payment.

I'm not that worried about him trying to scam me, though I deiniftely wouldn't think of using paypal or any other fraud magnet payment option.

western union is as safe as it gets, youll have cash in your hand and theres nothing anyone can do a bout it. Paypal is the second safest - once you transfer the funds into your checking account they cant touch it. Also thee reason why buyer protection is completly useless with paypal (ie the seller takes your money never sends anything) and why you should ALWAUS ALWAYS ALWAYS use your creditcard with paypal in acse you need to disupte the charges

Ive shipped stuff all over the world - switzerland, germany, cyprus, greece, czech republic etc. and never had any problems

I've read stories about people getting charge negative balance when Paypal reverses the charge, but you already transferred the money to your checking account. Wouldn't that be the same thing since Paypal sends people to collections?

Hi, what do I need in orde for them to send payment via western union? And would I be able to pickup paymentv (what form is i in) from any wu? Thanks

I only ship within the United States and I state it in big, huge, red text in my auctions. I've had the same stupid German guy buy (buy it now) my items 3 separate times after scolding him each time. Ebay needs to have a way for sellers to restrict bidders to US-only.
