internal wireless laptop connection dying?

i have an ibm thinkpag t40 (model 2379-d6u) with an internal wireless card - intel(R)pro/wireless lan 2100 3b mini pci adapter.

it worked great for a while (about 3 years). i now keep getting kicked off the wireless connection. I already upated the drivers. that didn't help. i updated windows xp. didn't help either. it's not my wireless connection - replaced the linksys b with a linksys g at home. all other wireless devices work at my house as well as my sister's and my bf's house. but my laptop won't work - it might connect for 5 seconds to maybe 2 minutes (rarely) but i keep getting kicked off. i've tried the ibm website for support - ran PC doctor but it says everything is fine (if i am actually able to connect wirelessly while it runs). nothing i do seems to help.

anyone else have this problem? and anyone come up with a solution?

please help!!! thanks in advance.

I would get an Intel 220BG or 2915ABG to replace it..that module wasn't a great one, even 3 years ago. Now....

not to mention, a 2915 (ABG) or 2200(BG) can be had for $20-$30

Ditto! Great hardware and I think that PROset/Wireless is one of the best wireless management apps on the market.
