Internal USB hub?

Looks like lots of devices are throwing extra USB ports at me and I was just wondering how to make all of them usable.
Many new cases have 2-4 ports on the front, and various "status" devices, etc. that go in a 5.25" bay have extra usb ports as well.

Just wondering if there's any sort of USB hub that can split the motherboard's USB header or an individual type A USB port and be powered by the internal power supply.
Heard of anything like this?
 
There is another thread with a similar question, don't have the link handy at the mo.

There are those 4 port USB hubs that sit in the front 5'25" bay and the connector from this either plugs into a rear USB port (which must mean it has to go out the back somewhere) or it can plug into an internal usb port (the ones that are on usb cards such as the ones from belkin as opposed to the motherboard usb2 header).

There are some more simple 5'25" bay usb port connectors where you get two ports connected to the usb header, this delivers 12mbps per port where a 4 port hub plugged into a usb port would deliver approx 3mbps per port if the devices were active.

Are you asking for a USB Splitter because you do not have the extra USB headers? Or is it because you want to have 4 USB ports out of the two extra USB headers? I don't think there are USB splitters yet but I do not see why you cannot make a USB hub a some kind of splitter with internal power connected from the PS outputs. As for making 4 ports out of two extra USB headers from the mobo, I don't see the requirement for this since two USB at the rear and two at the front is more than what you really need. If you need more than this then you need to buy an 8 or at least 6 port hub that serves as a monitor stand.
 
Wasn't looking for add ports to a 5.25" bay, but just to somehow feed the ports in the other devices in the bays. Not a particularly practical idea, but I was just curious if there was a device to divide a 2 port header into more...
