I suspect the CD, pretty sure it's not the HD, but wanted to get some input from the experts on the best computer forums on the net.

I get this after the first reboot into Xp, right at the beginning of the "Installing WIndows" step. (the first tiem you boot off the HD after copying the files from the CD)

Thanks

Sounds like the CD, yes. Have you tried copying it with something like Alcohol 120% to see if you can make a "good" copy of the "bad" disc?

Not sure about overclocking, but after a cmos reset I had my memory running slightly above spec and I would get random file corruption messages when copying from the CD.

If you are not overclocking, ignore. :)
