In my latest build I added an HP 9-in-1 Internal memory card reader with a USB port. DO these types of readers need any additional drivers or is everything in XP Professional that they need?
 
Normally they don't. Some come with "drivers" that merely put more meaningful icons to its drive letters, but they all SHOULD be following the "USB mass storage device" implementation standard, and thus run with XP's own drivers for this device class.
