Internal Matshita UJDA730 DVD-CDRW Drive in a Toshiba Laptop

One day I put in a CD and it wouldn't run. Then I tried another, and another, and another, then an audio cd, and finally a DVD, and the CDRW won't read it. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it??

Did it used to work? Is the drive detected? Can you boot to a cd? If you can't boot to a cd, it's dead...most likely. You can check the connector, clean the laser, but it is probably dead.

Yes it used to work great, and then once the green light, intead of flashing started glowing and whenever i try to insert a cd of any type it tries to run it but then stops and just shows the glowing green light.
