Friend has an older HP Lenovo? Laptop with Vista installed. For a short time after it was received the internal dvd player would play a dvd for a short time . Total time working was perhaps 15 mins or so before it quit.
Installed a similar internal dvd player from another Lenovo which was diagnosed with a bad mobo but good dvd player. That didn't work either! Installed an external dvd player which seems to be working well. Quicktime player was installed when received. We added VLC and Windows media player is also installed. The external dvd player will work with these but internal does not respond.
Decided to present this matter to Our Forum to see if the community can come up with an explanation what may have happened and if it can be resolved? Thank you very much for taking the time to help work this out. SM ... USAF 62-66
