Hi,
I am more of a PC plonker myself, but am running an errand for a friend.

He has a pimped up G4 dual 800mhz system which was built from scrapped parts.

Problem:
He has a single 500GB PATA drive but only 137GB is recognised.
If he puts in an ATA controller (and we were looking at Sonnet Tempo Ultra ATA controller), would that enable the whole hdd to be recognised?

Any other recommendations for an ATA controller?

The computer is being used as a marketing/ad/dtp tool for a charity that deals in used/refurb computers, so be kind.

Cheers in advance.

What is the OS? It is possible that the OS is the limiting factor (not sure why, but whatever)

Cheers Manly.
Thanks for the info (I didn't know about Quicksilver etc)
In UK can get those cards for about £40 ($85) - so it would probably work out for him.

Think that just about sorts out the prob.

All the best.
