Intermittent no optical USB mouse on boot, Logitech MX510 on Shuttle SN95G5

About half the time, upon a cold boot, my Logitech USB Optical MX510 mouse isn't recognized... the optical light on the bottom is on, but no movement on screen.

Unplugging it and plugging it back in or warm booting makes it work fine.

I heard maybe the logitech driver was to blame, but it seems like a hardware issue to me.

Anyone else have this issue?

make sure that the setting for enable USB keyboard/mouse or something like that is enabled in bios

have you tried updating the driver?

Secondly try a different USB port and reinstall the drivers in that port

This may sound obvious, but make sure the battery level is good, or that it's holding a decent charge.

My MS mouse starts acting goofy when the battery is low.

It's a wired mouse, so I'll just try another USB port and see what happens over the next day or so.

just a random thought, you could try in the device manager under properties of the mouse see if "allow computer to turn off device to save power" is unchecked. It's greyed out with my intellimouse but who knows. It under the propeties for mouse, not HID.

edit. nm just read it was a cold boot.
