Intermittent Boot Failure

I have a Toshiba laptop about 2 years old running Windows 7. It started having a boot up problem coming out of hibernation where it was asking for the Boot CD. Sometimes turning it on and off helps, sometimes it doesn't. I once unplugged and reconnected the hard drive and that worked for that time but it subsequently happened again. Once booted, I have no other hard drive issues whatsoever.

Is this a connection problem? an OS corruption problem? a hard drive problem? some other problem?

Thanks for your insights.

It can be any of the above depending your resources (spare parts etc.) it is a matter of elimination process.

I would start by disabling Hibernation and Sleep and see if it is happening when the computer boots from On/Off.
