Intermitten "error your ip has been banned"

I am running into this issue on my laptop running FF 50. It would say error your ip addr has been banned but I can acess forum fine on phone with chrome on same lan. Some time passes and I will get access again. What could cause this?

Also my wan IP hasn't changed in at least six months.

I don't know why. The IP address you are currently posting from is not banned. You are not the only person who has reported this. I will kick it up the chain to the Purch people.
 
I received the same message a few days ago. After I cleared my cache (Palemoon) the problem went away.
 
I've been getting this too. I thought it might be my VPN but even when I'm off of it, I still get the message.
 
Our platform engineer could find no reason for your IPs to be banned server side or through our bot blocking software. If the issue does occur again please turn off all of your extensions and let me know the results.
 
Happening to me as well, only happens while using PIA VPN EAST,New York, and Florida will double check to see if it's happening on tablet as well.
 
Thanks for the info. Going to forward this along to IT and see if they can come up with a solution. It's possible those VPN IPs have been used by bots, spam, etc. in the past. They could be on a list of banned IPs.
 
But I am not running any vpn. I know my ip range was banned by mistake in the past due to blacklist wildcard character error but that was a manual thing.

Mind you I have not run into this since that blip on thr or fri

Sorry, my previous post was in response to KMFJD. Since your original report have you had this "IP ban error"? Did you switch off all your extensions as requested? What were the results?

Made no difference. The problem went away and showed up for about ten seconds on thr or fri.

Tablet is able to use all the VPN nodes that i get a banned ip message when i try with my laptop, really strange.

Ahh... yeah I have seen it when using my VPN (PIA) and haven't seen it when not using it.

But it appears it is not a wide VPN block or anything related like some sites do (Target, ugh, they've banned some of the PIA IPs - and of course we all know about Netflix...). I have yet to encounter it on a non-VPN IP, but that others ARE experiencing that, and there's an almost zero chance their dynamic IP is a previous banned IP? If it was one user, sure, but not many, and not all of a sudden like this.
 
Yeah my home IP is banned this morning. I was forced to read Reddit over breakfast 🙁

I get the same error as sdifox - error, your IP address has been banned. Even if I click "contact" it shows that message.

Setup is residential cable, Chromebook, no extensions. No proxy or VPN. Was working fine yesterday, today, not so much.
