Interior design experts - How can I cover this window?

I want some more convenient blinds for this window in my study.

As you can see, the window is recessed, in a similar way to a dormer window, but much shallower. Also, note that next to the window is a wardrobe, the side of which lies flush with the wall outside the recess.

At present, I've got some rather annoying roman blinds - aside from the fact that they're the wrong size, because the windows open inwards - I have to completely remove the blinds in order to open the windows.

I'd like to put some vertical blinds in, but the clearance between the top of the window as it swings in, and the top of the recess is only about 1". There's no way that a standard vertical blind headrail will fit inside the recess.

Unforuntately, because of the wardrobe - I can't simply attach anything to the wall above the recess, because then I wouldn't be able to open the wardrobe door.

What are my options?
