Interface address is not on same subnet as DHCP pool

This is driving me crazy. I am trying to change the default IP address on the inside interface to something other than the default 192.168.1.1. However, when I issue the ip address inside 192.168.0.3 255.255.255.0 command, I get a message stating "Interface address is not on same subnet as DHCP pool" And, when I try to change the DHCP addresses, I get the message "Address range subnet is not the same as inside interface"

I know there is something I am missing. We do not need the PIX to act as our DHCP server - so I have disabled DHCPD by issuing no dhcpd enable inside.

Thanks for the help.
