Credit card accounts ?phished? from fake porn sites, or clever e-mails promising ?You?ve got Pictures? that ask for AOL user names and passwords. What do computer criminals do all day? Work the system ? and reap the rewards. In this MSNBC.com exclusive, you?ll get a chance to peek inside the daily life of two computer criminals, and see how the system works to their advantage.

Fools and their money are soon parted. AOL losers deserve it.
These kinds of scams have been going on for over a decade. I remember the first early versions of AOHEll back in the 386 / 486 days to send formatted emails to people saying that due to database errors they needed their info again....

i was surprised to find that i know all the terms mentioned in the article. I didn't even need to refer to the parenthesis that msnbc provided. i hate international orders :( they always buy expensive stuff like laptops and then offer $100 for overnight shipping. its lame and of course it's a scam hah.

Hey boys and girls, guess what?? The Internet is full of people that want to rip you off just like in real life! Buckle up and get ready for the ride!

Amazing how dumb people are. Natural Selection. The weak and dumb will be eaten.

The guy made all of the porn stuff up. Ain't no way he got that many people to click on his link from his spam email, be enticed by the adult site, and sign up, in the short amount of time that he claims. No way, no how. 3 hours, 15 signups. 15 people trying to signup, using the piss poor surfers that he has (spammed them), would need probably 3000 surfers (low estimate) to get to his webpage. He says he got 12,000 addresses from AOL, if he spammed all of those, that's 25% that clicked his link from his spam email, assuming all 12,000 logged in during those 3 hours that he was away. A ton of them are the type that are sick and tired of the spam and just hit delete.

Basically, that guy is full of caca, and I really don't believe a word from his little journal.

I used to have a friend that did this stuff---and made a freaking fortune doing it. Had tons of stuff just sitting around in his garage. Last I heard he was still doing it----can't believe he hasn't been caught yet.

Please don't use the term "hacker" wrong. Hackers are anyone that breaks into a secure system merely for the sake of the challenge and does NOT do any harm to the system nor do they use any information to their own advantage. Usually they leave messages to the system admin to tell them of the hole in their sercurity and ways to patch it up.

The people in this article, and the people that take stolen information for their own use are known as "crackers" or "carders"
