Interesting voltage tidbits I have seen with the Neo2

I have noticed this since being in the windows environment sinceI can see loaded situation with prime95 and superpi though I could see this same effect in the bios at idling vcore voltages...

Setting the bios to 3.3% over vid

At 2250 or 250fsb = Bios reports 1.47 idle CoreCenter reports 1.50v idle loads at 1.51-1.52v

At 2350 or 261fsb = Bios still 1.47-1.46 idle CoreCenter reports 1.49-1.50v idle and loads no higher then 1.51v

At 2450 or 272fsb = Bios reports 1.45v solid idels CoreCenter reports 1.47-1.48v and loads solid 1.49v

Consequently though I am increasing in mhz my temps have held to same load temp in prime for the last 200mhz since the vcore is actually less....

Also notice the strange phenomena where the board vcore goes up under loading and not the normal .02-.03 drop I se with my abit IC7 and other P4 boards of the past.

Temps I am seeing...

Idle temps and temps reported by sandra are usually 3c to 4c lower at all times (idle and load) ( all taken after about 5-10 minutes of idling) *** all with stock opteron cooler provided by MarkFW900***

2250 = Bios reported 36-37c CoreCenter reports 39-40c idle and loads 53c...Sandra at load reports 49-50c max

2350 = Bios reported 37c Corecenter reports 40c idle and loads at 53c solid....Sandra at load reports 49-50c range...

2450= Bios reports 36c solid CoreCeneter reports 39c idle and loads at 53c solid...Sandra is seeing 49c pretty tight...

All load temps are taken from 2 hour prime95 prelim test....

So far 2250, 2350 and 2450 have all passed 5-6 test of memtest, 1mb and 32mb of superpi, and 2 hours of prelim prime95 stress testing.

Thanks for the info Duvie...

I just set up a FX-53 and Neo2 Plat. Waiting a couple days for my OCZ with TCCD chips and I'm going to start playing with my system also.

Are you still using the 1.37mod? Have you tried the 1.51 at all?

Also, which RAM slots worked best for you? I'm using 3+4 atm, I seem to recall reading somewhere that those seem to do better then 1+2.

I am using 1.37mod right now and when I hit the wall with this bios I will move on to 1.41mod...I haven't heard enough about 1.51 to want to try it yet....

I pm'd you about the ram slots...

Good luck on the OC I hope you get 2.8+ghz
