Interesting ups/paypal trick

I have a 2405fpw on the way, I got the tracking number shortly after completing the transaction, it also includes the soundbar which was intended to ship in its own package the next day.

When I got the tracking number I noticed that the reference number was PayPalShipping999999 so I went to the track by reference number page and filled in the zip and country and put in the ref # hoping I would see my current package and maybe the second package as well, I did indeed see both packages as well as two dozen other packages in my zip and within the default date range.

Cliffs:
1: go here track by reference number page

2: use ref # PayPalShipping999999

3: use your preferred zip code

4: use your preferred country of origin

5: agree to terms

6: check out your neighbors package origins and estimated delivery dates

Hm, kinda cool, but it doesn't say who shipped it to them... that would make this really interesting.

Trick question? I'm gonna go with YES.

I got twenty four tracking numbers in my zip from 12/25/05 to 12/28/06 eighteen delivered, six in transit, and a neighbor has something coming to them from Redmond eta 1/26/06

I didnt know I could check out my neighbors packages 🙂

No, not a trick question. I guess I just thought this was pretty well known already. I stumbled upon it years ago while at work one day.🙂

How do you know it's a neighbor

I don't see any detailed info like an address anywhere

Exactly. It could be anyone within your zipcode which spans alot of space for most😉

You get that reference number when you use Paypal's site to setup and print the shipping label and pay for the UPS fees.

Is there a similiar trick for Dell and UPS or FedEx?
Well, I think Dell uses order numbers for reference numbers, I remember doing that once.
