Interesting TwinMOS/Buffalo Tech Memory review @ THG

WTH is the reviewer doing??

Its from THG, what you expect. BTW the only thing I got out of the article was that DC-DDR is faster than ASYNC-DC which everyone already knows.

Yeah, buying that nForce2 motherboard and sticking in a T-Bred processor is awfully tough.

They are doing both TwinMOS and Buffalo a great disservice. Imagine how many n00bs are gonna be influenced by this?

Don't waste your time Thugs...
<----- puts on flame retardant suit

It is just an AMD review....

Isn't this important? Taken from THG's review...
Buffalo Technology's presence is largest in the U.S. The company sent us its top model for this test. Unfortunately, at all clock speeds it will run, at best, with CL 2.5; only at 266 MHz could a CAS latency of two clock cycles be run stably. The SPD gives the lowdown on it.

he shoulda atleast tested them all at the same latencies

i guess his whole goal was to show how the mem makers are kinda ripping the n00bs off by increasing the latencies as mem speed increases

we all know better.

I was confused by the whole article. It was not a ram test/shoot-out by manufacture really, but more of a PC2100 vs PC2700 vs PCect., ect. comparison. And even then, we all know that the latencies offered by all manufactures are not created equal.

Poorley written and not worthy of posting on any hardware site. Should have never gotten past a technical editor.

What a joke. Sync 333 vs desync 400. The more pressing question would be something like 400 w/aggressive timings versus 430 or 440 (etc) with relaxed timings, say 3-3-3-7.

THG is a joke, period. That guy hasn't done anything relevant in years. He still thinks his website is great because of that whole intel thing from years back, which he conveniently mentions at the beginning of almost every article, even if it has NOTHING whatsoever to do with the review at hand. If the review MENTIONS a processor, he'll mention how he single-handedly uncovered a problem with intel's 1.13ghz PIII.

I bet one of his sponsors paid him to say Buffalo tech winbond bh-5 modules won't do CAS 2 at anything but 266mhz, because thats complete BS.

That is the worse review I have ever seen!...UNREAL!
I sell Buffalo over @ amdmb forums and it is very good ram!
For $35- Buffalo pc3200 BH-5 chips run @ 5222 @ 400MHZ @ 2.78 VOLTS
