Interesting tidbit about Firefox

Many are aware that when typing Amazon in the URL field in IE and hitting Ctrl+Enter it will automatically fill in the http://www.------.com

Firefox does the same thing but what Firefox will do that IE won't (one of many things) is you can do the same thing for .org sites. Type in the name Amazon and hit Ctrl+Shift+Enter and you will get http://www.amazon.org.

Thought this was kinda cool 🙂

Hmmm, interesting. The thing that irriates me about FF is that when you just do one word it goes to google, then to the website. Kinda stupid considering that a couple key strokes result in .net and .org. Shouldnt .com be the default? Like mozilla.

interesting. Thanx for the heads up. I find the Keyword search a huge help to so instead of going to google I can just put in "goo mullet dogs" and get results instantly. Love the firefox tid-bits...got anymore?

Most people don't visit .org more than .com. What about an option to pick what you want it to look for by default? Best of both worlds. I'm with KoolDrew on this one, I can type the extra couple letters faster than hitting those "shorcut" keys.

Yeah you and no one else. Let's be practical.

No one? I admit I'm almost undoubtedly in the minority, but I would bet that the other millions of Linux users and OSS developers are in the same position as I am.

I tried FireFox for a month. I didn't like it. There are some sites that will not work with FF. I ended up going back to IE. To each their own.
