I have an enormous map that I'm trying to build out almost completely and there are only so many geometric entities and prefabs to choose from so help me think of new stuff.

i looked at some of their third party assets. they were pretty horrible. low poly stuff with ugly textures. i really want to use only crysis stuff anyway so that the environment is both good-looking and consistent. all i want really are ideas of what to make. next time you play the crysis "demo map" or the "contact" map, go into fly mode and take a look at just how large it is. i want to make use of the entire area with the same amount of "things to do/see per square kilometer" that are of the same quality as the original, story-driven locations. i figure it would take me about a week to do the circumference, beach. i've spent like 3 hours doing not even 1/10th of it. it's just a very large area and i don't need enthusiast modders or anything, i just need good ideas.

edit: do you want to see what i have so far?

who's assets are horrible? Crymod? You're crazy. That's where their own dev's are posting stuff. It's a mecca for Crysis Developers. You need to join their forum, and get involved. That's the only place to be. (well, besides incrysis.com)

You are developing for Crysis Wars using the latest Sandbox Release; correct? Developing for anything else is worthless. Crytek is only supporting Crysis Wars for modding now.

Yes, and you need to develop them in Crysis Wars if you want anybody else to play them. If you are just doing it for yourself, that's fine, but for distribution and sharing, Crysis Wars is the platform to use, even if using Single Player Maps. It's because Crysis Wars provides the integrated MOD accessibility and latest patching that allows for the most consistent AND supported gameplay.

Read up on it, or you are wasting your time. No new patches for anything MOD related to the single player games.

Crysis Wars is setup to play Mods, including first person mods. You want a great single player campaign mod? CRYTEK, the company that made the game, wants you developing it on Crysis Wars, even if they are old maps.

I do alot of work in the Sandbox. Listen to me Young Jedi. I'd hate to have you make a killer map and realize nobody thats active in the mod community will wnt to play it because its built on the Original crysis mod SDK, which isn't supported anymore.

Just saying. If you don't listen, you are doing it wrong.
