Give me a fscking break. Who really cares what Annan thinks? I don't think any G-7 nation does, and for good reason. What the UN does is cater to the lowest denominator, because the nations at the bottom are the ones who hold a majority by the numbers and there's a lot of #1-hatin' going on.

Fsck the UN, and fsck Annan for being too much of a moron to grasp that this was, technically, merely the fulfilment of the pledge to stop Saddam for breaking the peace erected in 1991.

Of course Annan would say that. Individuals within his organization, along with the French and the Germans were making big money scamming from the Oil for Food program.

While Annan may be the figurehead of the UN, his opinion is NOT the opinion of the UN.
