One of the most interesting pieces of software generated passwords I've come across is the Postini generated passwords (for spam filters) that simply mashes 2 four-letter words together and that's your password. You can imaging what some of the passwords that can be generated out of the english dictionary with that.
But by far, one of my managers showed me a temporary password for a piece of trial software that was emailed to him... I think it takes the cake.
