sounds kinda cool but i can see problems
1) you're no longer using that email address
2) you die
3) it gets blocked as spam and you never see it.
4) you have no access to email
5) the website doing this is shut down for some reason

I heard about futureme.org on the news last night. Now I guess there are a few of these sites popping up here and there.
