Interesting shutdown problem. Can't tell if it's the mobo or XP.

I just replaced my Epox 8kta3 mobo with a new one. The old one was fried in a lightning storm. Anyway, after reinstalling XP when I shut the comptuer down it says "It's now safe to shut down your computer". Meaning I manually have to flip the switch on the power supply or hold in the power button 5 sec's on the front instead of the computer completely shutting down on it's on. This never happened with the other mobo, and I've downloaded all the patches and updates from MS. The mobo manual isn't any help either. Can you offer any suggestions?

hmmm....

Is the board setup as ACPI? if not then this can cause your problem.

It seems to be a winXP problem. I don't believe it is a MB problem.
