Apparently, PCI Xpress is supposed to happen and all MB makers are aware of this. So it is not really a rambus thing yet.

I am still leery of such big changes though. I said the same thing when AGP was brought out by Intel back in the day.

Another thing. What if the chipsets come out and GOOD PCIexp video cards are either not ready or cost WAY to much. Current cards rally do not need teh extra power that PCIexp will offer so there will be no true performance gains right away, again kinda like rambus.

But as anandtech's report added, this will leave a nice open door for VIA and/or SiS to walk into, esp!!!! for OEM customers that just want something KINDA fast, BUT cheap and 100% stable and proven.
