I recently built a system that i'm pretty proud of but i'm starting to see signs of instability while over clocking.

My system specs:

CPU: i7 920 @ 3hz ( stable on prime95 days on end )
Mobo: Asus p6t delux
Ram: Corsair dominator 3gb tri chan kit. ( i've ran memtest86 for 48 hours, no errors )
psu: antec signature 850 series
gpu: 4870x2
OS: Win XP

You'll notice in this screen shot that core temp shows 3ghz on full load on all 8 cores.

Now in this one, pay close attention to core temp, cpuz doesn't show the drop nearly as drastic.

For some reason at 3.2ghz when my computer goes idle. It drops it's cpu speed and my system will lock up completely. This also goes for if my screen saver cuts on for a long period of time it will lock up.

So far i've checked my bios to see what could be the problem. Speedstep is off which i thought might have been what was causing the idle to decrease my cpu speed.

I've also made sure that i checked all my power saving settings. All of them are turned off.

The oddest part is the cpu at 3.2ghz runs prime95, superPI, orthos all for a good day or two stable, and then i turn them off and if my comp idles for long enough it locks up.

I'm at my wits end, and i'm completely out of ideas of what it could be. My biggest guess is it has something to do with the idle making my cpus frequency dropping.
