Interesting problem with new computer

I have installed OS no problem, all boots up fine. If needed I can inform you all of the hardware it has, but I cant get windows to enter certain keys when I try to activate the product key. Such as S, A, N ,O, I, U .. the list goes on. I have tried 3 different keyboards, as well as using the onscreen keyboard, still no luck! whats the deal?

It is a 32bit version of XP home SP2 on a 64bit AMD 3000 processor, could this be the problem? There was a problem copying a .swf when installing OS, but I had to skip it, it was the only problem it had.

yikes, what would fix that?

Well you could check the registry to see if it is corrupted, and if so you could manually fix it.

If its just the registry, where would I look?

per_seg5.swf was the missing file.

okay, found out it only does this when I try to put in my authorized CD KEY when activating windows. The keys work fine in google search.

I am stiffled. I have to copy keys that I input into windows and copy the key such as N, into the Product Key placement.

This is beyond intersting..do you think this problem will come up again?

This computer is going to a friend of mine, whom is VERY computer illetarate.

First you're going to need some holy water, and a lot of garlic. mmmm garlic

I think it'll take more than that, maybe a silver bullet or two 😛

In my experience the following will happen:
You will not be able to definitively fix this 'problem' which would be fine if you or someone marginally bright were keeping it, but you're going to give it o someone who is going to have a buttload of unusual problems, probably because they're a schmuck. You won't be able to determine whether this little problem you're having now is the root of their problems becuase it's so unusual, you'll feel guilty for several years until you can convince them to upgrade and buy a Dell.

...I'm just sayin'

I am just going to reformat. I hope that solves all, as it usually does!
